Dead by Daylight introducing a new, creepy, Leatherface Outfit

Dead by daylight LeatherfaceDead by Daylight developer Behaviour Interactive continues to add content to its popular multiplayer horror game. Recently, the title paired up with the likes of Silent Hill and Stranger Things, in two of the game’s biggest crossovers yet. This update isn’t a major one, but it is bringing a new outfit to one of the older Dead by Daylight crossover characters, Leatherface. Leatherface, from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, was introduced as one of the game’s killers back in 2017. The character is now getting its first cosmetic outfit over three years later. The Old Lady Outfit reflects Leatherface’s “homemaker” persona, and makes the guy look even creepier than usual. The outfit includes the Lady of Leatherhead, the Homemaker’s Apron, as well as the Dinner Smasher weapon. This mallet should come in handy for any escaping survivors. To coincide with launch, the team has put together a short trailer showing the Old Lady off. This outfit is distinctively ...

Bethesda drops new Fallout 76: Steel Dawn trailer with Brotherhood focus

Bethesda Drops New Fallout 76 Steel Dawn Trailer With Brotherhood Focus (1)Sound the klaxons, the armored fanatics are arriving! Having been revealed as the next big content drop coming to the MMO, Fallout 76: Steel Dawn will officially see the Brotherhood of Steel enter Appalachia on December 1. To celebrate the momentous occasion, Bethesda has just dropped a new trailer with a focus on the organization. Suffice to say, they are not here to play. Instead, the Brotherhood of Steel is here to stop all of the crazy vault dwellers from using weapons and technology that is destroying society. Such nice fellows they are. Of course, if you are looking to rebuild society, having nukes flying around is not the best way forward. With the Brotherhood’s arrival also comes several NPCs that will be added with Fallout 76: Steel Dawn. True to form, these individuals are definitely not as colorful as the denizens of Appalachia. All they want is to stop us from having fun. Who can argue with big guns and even bigger armor? It would be wise for players to join up and...

Mediatonic laying down plans for a bigger Fall Guys Season 3

Mediatonic Laying Down Plans For A Bigger Fall Guys season 3 (2)The hype around Mediatonic’s Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout has dropped in recent times, but the adorable battle royale of sorts is still doing really well in terms of player numbers and engagement. With the increased attention paid to it, this has also resulted in players demanding more from the developers. On that front, the studio has been working hard to come up with more regular content updates to satiate the demand with Season 2. We recently got a mid-season update, with even more whacky costumes thrown in for good measure. However, that is not enough for some parts of the community. Fall Guys Season 3 will have much to live up to. Taking to Reddit, a pair of community managers were on hand to talk more about the mid-season update. In addition, they also dropped more information regarding Fall Guys Season 3. As a whole, the team at Mediatonic is confident of having more levels at launch compared to this season. According to Community Director Oliver Hindle, the studio is a...

New Destiny 2: Season of the Hunt trailer preps Guardians for war

New Destiny 2 Season Of The Hunt Trailer Preps Guardians For War (2)With players now experiencing all of the new content in Destiny 2: Beyond Light, Bungie has decided to reveal more about the next season. In the brand new Season of the Hunt YouTube trailer, we witness the arrival of the Hive God of War, Xivu Arath, in Destiny 2. With it comes an important question, is there anything or anyone else that the Darkness is speaking to? Of course, with the Darkness finally arriving to counter the Light of the Traveler, things are about to get messy. The introduction of Xivu Arath has certainly messed up the status quo. She is looking to consolidate her power with the help of the Darkness, and we are certainly standing in her way. With such a big threat looming, Osiris has enlisted the help of the Guardians once again. You will not have to stand up against this threat alone, of course. The Crow is here to help. That is, if you can get past the fact that this is Uldren Sov, the baddie who basically wiped Cayde-6 off the face of the universe as part of the ...

Minecraft Dungeons digs up a date for cross-play

Minecraft Dungeons DelayedMojang Studios’ isometric action-RPG Minecraft Dungeons has received a lot of updates in its relatively short life – just over five months. The DLC content has sent players to the steamy jungles and wintery domains. These DLCs have also added a bunch of new features to the action-adventure. However, a standout feature that’s always been missing from Minecraft Dungeons is cross-play. But that’s about to change. On November 17, Minecraft Dungeons will finally allow players to join forces with people on different platforms through cross-play. Players on Windows PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One can all join the cross-platform party. Scaling the peaks Mojang Studios doesn’t look like it’s slowing down with Minecraft Dungeons any time soon. In December, the action-RPG will take players to new heights with the Howling Peaks DLC. Players will have hordes of new mobs to battle, as well as a new boss in the form of the Tempest Golem. Around the same time that the Howling Peaks...

Godfall technical review — Valorous performance without greatness

Godfall 27Godfall is out now on PC and we’re going to take a look at its performance and various other options. It’s a gorgeous game that doesn’t exactly require the best rig around to run despite being a PS5 launch title. Before getting into the nitty-gritty, let’s take a loot at the minimum and recommended specs. System specifications Minimum Specs Processor: Intel Core i5-6600 / AMD Ryzen 5 1600 Memory: 12 GB RAM Graphics card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060, 6 GB / AMD Radeon RX 580, 8 GB Recommended Specs Processor: Intel Core i7-8700 / AMD Ryzen 5 3600 Memory: 16 GB RAM Graphics card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti, 11 GB / AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT, 8 GB As you can see, Godfall is not super-duper demanding. I have a very similar build to the above, with the exact AMD GPU as recommended and a similar processor. The only caveat is that it looks like machines that still have just 8 GB of RAM might have some issues. For me, though, the game runs flawlessly almost all of the time a...

The Pathless review — You see a lot up there, but don’t be scared

The Pathless 04It’s not the end of the story that makes the experience. It’s the journey we take to arrive there. This adage is apt when used to describe The Pathless. If you want, you can make a beeline for the ending in several hours. Or you can immerse yourself in the vast, digital lands before you while searching for puzzles and lore. What’s more, the game has no map. If you want to discover its secrets, you have to look carefully as opposed to just selecting an icon on a map and chasing a waypoint. It’s this sense of discovery that makes the game feel so intimate and peaceful. The Pathless is set in a world threatened by the Godslayer. The Eagle Mother, a guardian deity, has been stricken by this grievous foe and rendered inert as he plans to doom the entire world to melancholy and despair. You’re thrust into the narrative as a young archer who seeks to put a stop to his foul machinations. During the game’s prologue, you cleanse the Eagle Mother of the Gods...

Weathering the Storm - Mangaclub

Today we are talking to Mangaclub, a long-time member of our modding community and author of some of your favourite weather mods such as Vivid Weathers for Skyrim, Skyrim Special Edition, and Fallout 4.

BigBizkit: Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions. Before we start the interview: what’s the weather like where you’re at right now?

Mangaclub: Thank you! It's good to have the opportunity to answer your questions. The weather is actually the very same as my actual mod that is in development: Whispering Hills - a Silent Hill Overhaul for Fallout 4.  So in short, it is really cold and foggy :)

Can you tell us a bit about yourself?

YES I can! First of all, I am from Germany and was born into the gaming world with the very first Gameboy I owned.

From there the fascination of computers grew massively. I spent months in front of my Amiga playing every minute of my spare time. I started modding when Fallout New Vegas was released. With that, I had my first experiences of how to mod games and how to avoid tearing out your hair from not working mods. My history in game development goes back much further though. I once lead a team of around 5 people to create a Silent Hill Clone Game. This project sadly never finished (soms3d.de) but I was able to acquire all needed knowledge of 3D engines and how they worked back then.

You are most well known for your Vivid Weathers mods for Skyrim and Fallout 4. How would you describe these mods to people who have yet to try them out?

Vivid Weathers can be described as a total weather and visual overhaul for these games. It aims to replace and add many more weather simulations as well as overhauling the general image quality of the game with new colours and effects. This includes even using some unused effects that are in the engine but never made it in to the final release in an enabled state.

What initially inspired you to create a complete weather and visual overhaul for Skyrim?

When I first played Skyrim, I was more or less disappointed with the visuals of this game. The strong green tint and bleached out colours made everything look dull. So I started to create an ENB for Skyrim called "Vividian ENB" which has grown very huge over time. In fact, it has grown so large that I was hitting the boundaries of what I could do with an ENB alone and I was forced to do these changes with plugins. That's when I started to tinker with weathers and to say it short... it was necessary to embark on the journey towards making a weather mod in order to make my ENB work out the best.

Do you still remember how it all started for you? What got you interested in modding?

Well as a German I feel the constant need to enhance the things that are in front of me. It literally started with Fallout New Vegas where I enhanced a few aspects of it like the colour palette and visuals. Seeing how one can change the feeling of a whole game and enhance it was giving me a "kick" that is still holding up to this very day. For me it is an expression of creativity that I got addicted to.

Having been part of the community for so long now, you must have some favourite mods that go well alongside your own. Can you name a few?

Of course! I always recommend Enhanced Lights & FX (ELFX) as well as Realistic Water Two and Skyrim Flora Overhaul and Frostfall. Those mods are in my opinion a must have for Skyrim at the very least.

Are there any mods from other authors that you look at and just go “wow”?

I am a big fan of the mod Rigmor of Bruma which adds a very unique quest and follower to Skyrim. It literally captured me with the voice acting and the well written story. This was the one mod where I went "wow" after I finished it. But the things is, I cannot really experience many of those "wow" mods because I went from playing Skyrim and Fallout, to modding it. Modding became a replacement for playing the games. That sadly also means I miss out on many good mods that are out there.

If you could go back in time, what advice would you give your younger self regarding your first mod(s)?

"HOLY MOLY! STOP MESSING AROUND WITH THE TINT VALUES THOSE ARE EVIL" or something like that :) - Really there are many things in the creation engine that can make you go crazy because they change the visuals in a way that makes it impossible for you to figure out where a specific ugly look comes from. The "Tint" value in the imagespaces is one of those.

Do you have any hobbies or interests outside of modding and/or gaming?

Oh, of course. I am restaurating old classic computers form the 80s and early 90s including Amiga, C64, NES and ATARI. I also built up a Tabletop arcade machine from scratch and tour with a team of enthusiastic friends (look up Retr-o-mat) to exhibit those machines on games conventions. Other than that I love taking photos (that's where most of my cloud textures come from) and as a Zen Buddhist meditation also is part of my life now.

Are you excited for any upcoming games?

Oh, yes I sure am excited for Cyberpunk but also for new Resident Evil Remakes. I am also especially excited about the new upcoming release of Elite Dangerous: Odyssey!

Is there anything else you would like to say?

Sure! These times we live in are particularly rough for every one of us. If we focus on what's important (in my opinion that's family, friends and everyone in your circle), then we can overcome these times together. The more we hold together as humans who stop being divided by concepts of skin colour, religion and political views, the more we will stay strong for what's ahead of us.

[line]

The Pathless: beginner’s guide

The Pathless 06The Pathless doesn’t have much interest at all in telling you what to do or what anything is. It’s very much the sort of game that throws you in and expects you to learn by doing. And this works! But in case you’d rather just be told instead of having to figure it out yourself, then this beginner’s guide has got you covered. I’m going to be breaking down what your main goals are going to be, what everything means, and why you should care about the extras. Your goal in each of the plateaus in The Pathless is very simple. When you turn on your spirit vision after acquiring the mask that unlocks it, you’ll see towers that are highlighted in red. You want to interact with each of these in order to face the plateau’s boss. You’ll do this by getting metal plates that you can place at the top of the towers that clear corruption away.  You can spot places that give you metal plates by looking for red barriers that are very noticeable even with...

This week’s free title on the Epic Games Store is The Textorcist, Elite Dangerous coming next week

The Textorcist Epic Games Store FreeIt’s a little hard to accept that it’s already well into November of 2020. Epic seems to be dealing with the struggle. Or whoever it is that’s coming up with all of these free game giveaways. They are apparently stuck on the idea that it can be Halloween forever, as we’re still getting spooky-themed titles despite our trick-or-treat obsessions having died with the inevitable sugar crashes. Well, here’s to (at least) one last free game on the Epic Games Store in 2020 that deals with the supernatural. The Textorcist: The Story of Ray Bibbia deals with digital exorcisms, as you likely inferred from the play on words. You take on the role of a private exorcist based in Rome during the middle of a demonic outbreak. It sounds a bit epic doesn’t it? You will experience a sinful city on the decline, full of action and insidious plots. Expect to deal with gun-crazed gangsters, demons, and even the Pope himself as you fight to prevent an unearthly coup agai...

The newest Plague Inc. DLC tasks players with beating back a pandemic

Plague incAs the Covid-19 pandemic has worn on across the globe, one game with far too much relevance has been playing off of it. Plague Inc., the game where players are usually the ones controlling and designing a virus as it mutates and spreads around the world with the main goal of wiping out humanity, is reversing course in a new DLC titled Plague Inc: The Cure. The expansion will task players with fighting a pandemic off instead of bringing one on, all while maintaining public trust. Sound familiar? Announced in a blog post on the game’s Steam page, Plague Inc: The Cure will be free for all owners of Plague Inc: Evolved, that is, until Covid-19 is under control. So in all likeliness, players who jump in now should have free access to this DLC for time enough to get their fill. The DLC was developed in partnership with “world health and infectious disease experts from all over the world” to create a game that mimics real life. Players looking for some escapism can look e...

Godfall: crafting Valorplates and upgrading equipment guide

Godfall 20Godfall doesn’t have a ton of crafting, but it’ll save you some time to look at this quick overview of what your options are. For starters, there are 12 Valorplates currently in the game, and 11 of them will need to be crafted (even if one of them is extremely cheap and given to you early on.) Crafting a Valorplate requires two things: five Valorplate cores and 50 of a crafting resource from motherlodes. Valorplate cores can be found in the game’s zones. Go into your heightened sense mode and look for glowing golden spots. If you find one above what looks like a corpse, that will grant you a core. As for the crafting resources, there are three of these in Godfall that are specific to the Earth, Water, and Air zones. These are Infused Jasper in Earth, Crystalline Tears in Water, and Aetheric Filaments in Air. Motherlodes are all over the zones and will often give you four-to-six of the zone’s respective material each. Once you have all the cores and materials,...

Destiny 2: Beyond Light review in progress

Destiny 2 Beyond Light ReviewIt’s another year and here comes another Destiny 2 expansion, Beyond Light. After a short delay, Guardians are finally be able to set foot on Europa, learn more about its secrets, and harness a form of the Darkness via an element known as Stasis. The question, however, is if this whole thing is worthwhile. Truth be told, it’s too early to tell given that we’re only in the first week of Beyond Light‘s release. There might be new additions in the coming weeks or once the raid, Deep Stone Crypt, goes live. Unfortunately, there are already so many problems that it’s going to be an uphill climb for Bungie.   Welcome to Europa Destiny 2: Beyond Light‘s campaign starts off with a recounting of events that brought you to this moment: the arrival of the Darkness’ Pyramid ships, the loss of contact in various planets, the machinations of Savathun, and a distress call from none other than Variks. Godfall guide: the most useful skills

Godfall 16There are a decent amount of skills to acquire in Godfall. To help you get off to a good start, I’m going to break down my personal picks. You unlock skills with skill points, which you receive from leveling up, completing story missions, or finishing out Merits that are tied to performing certain actions and killing a particular number of enemies. Each skill has five levels, and not all of them are as useful as others. Naturally, it takes five points to max out a skill. Finesse This initially unlocks an evasive slide, which not only makes you more nimble but gives you a lot more room to breathe when escaping from enemies. This is one of the first skills in Godfall you’ll likely want to spend points on. Subsequent unlocks also increase your parry window by 10% each, which is helpful. Rampage A great one that you can get and then forget while seeing your damage output increase. All you need to do is hit enemies enough in a short span of time and you’ll automatically...

Godfall combat guide — Mechanics, enemies, and techniques

Godfall 14Combat in Godfall kind of has a lot going on. This guide is going to break down the general mechanics and let you know what sort of options you’ll have when fighting the hordes of whomever. Just remember: if you’re terrible at the game, you can respawn, so just hit things and laugh when they kill you. But don’t laugh too hard. You’ve got neighbors. Godfall has default regular and strong attacks to choose from. Both deplete the lifebars of your enemies. As you whittle health down with your regular attack, you’ll see a remainder appear in place of some of what you’ve removed. This is how much the enemy can heal if it has the ability to do so. When you hit a damaged enemy with a strong attack, this remainder will be shattered. If you get enemies down to next to nothing/just their remainder, hitting them with a strong attack will cause them to shatter via a green explosion. Combos and breakers Both regular and strong attacks have normal combos where y...
